Hi there,

I am currently writing my final year report for my MEng Civil Engineering on sanitation provision for refugees/IDPs. I am hoping to have a section on ecosan toilets and was wondering if anyone had any examples of techniques like the ones discussed on this message board being used in an emergency situation?

so long as there is some sort of cover material, the method of bucket toileting to compost pile is very effective. Not just for emergencies but for general use.
I don't know anything about ecosan toilets thought. The bucket system is very simple and the compost pile works well for killing pahtogens so long as it is managed appropriately.
