Our attempt to do this was a complete failure, even though it never went below 50 degrees farenheit and used every suggestion they gave us. And so complicated and expensive. We now have a $3000 oak toilet seat.

The owners of the place that I caretake want to put in an Envirolet stand alone, 12 volt dc composting toilet.

Does anyone have any experience with one of these?

It gets very cold here in the winter, and the bathroom gets below freezing. I assume this will greatly slow down the biodegradation. Some commercial manufacturers say the temp has to stay at 50 or above.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks!
