This is a personal opinion, and I know others will disagree with me, but I would be quite happy getting that sawdust from the hardware stores, what is referred to as "dead wood."
If I didn't have the "live" sawdust direct from a lumbar mill, or from my own chainsaw operations, then the less desirable would be quite acceptable in my view.

Most people that produce smaller amounts consider it a waste product and will give it to you if it is less trouble than other disposal methods. I am in the process of getting a winters worth from one source that is in high demand and I will barter for it since it is extremely convenient for me as a source. I also have a less convenient source that will put it in my trailer with a loader for 20 dollars a ton which I consider quite reasonable.

When i lived in Irvine KY last year we bought a pickup load for $10. Here in MN I'm able to get it free from furniture makers found on craigslist.

Down here I think they charge about $20 for a pickup truck full.

Just getting started on my humanure system. Makes no sense not to.

How much can I expect to pay for sawdust from a sawmill?

Thanks,
