It may depend on species. If they are soldier fly larva, I may want to buy them. I got big June beetle larvae in my compost. House or blow flies spread disease.

Probably not good. Try a carbon based cover material.

I use 2 earth machine bins and have been composting about 2 years. I never had this issue. One of my piles seems fine but the other one has a ton of what looks to be maggots. I do not have any flies. I've been using dirt soil and dirt as my cover material? As I said it's been fine. Just want to know if these maggots are good or not good.
