Apparently the size of a humanure pile does matter. Last year I started new and watched as the pile gradually gained heat over the course of months. This year I am starting with a large pile that was dormant from the cold and frozen and now within a two week period it has gone from frozen to 138 F with a twenty degree gain in the last 3 days. Very exciting and satisfying as well. Almost time to start the new pile so I am probably going back to the patient temperature waiting game.
