On TV the past month or so. Only caught the tail end of show. An International Show on a PBS station.

In Japan, a man has developed a human manure composting system. Looks like a big pit, in a hut with a toilet over the pit. It involves saw dust and a slowly rotating blade - my guess is to mix and oxygenate. He claims the compost is safe for crops and to demonstrate stuck his hands in it.
