I just caught your interview on the Allegheny Front radio show broadcast this past Wednesday on WYEP here in Pittsburgh. I thought it was great and very informative. With all of the composting information I have read and discussed with friends I never heard or even thought about humanure! Thanks for keeping this info out there for the rest of us.

Thanks for listening. I think WYEP will post the interview on their web site soon. When they do, I'll post a link here.

Please post the link. I'd like to listen to it. I am a big fan because the system works so well and much easier than digging holes as was my previous practice.

In the old days I used to marvel at the fact how all that delicious and EXPENSIVE food so quickly became pure worthless S-H-*T! That seemed strange and bizarre to me. A profound mystery of nature. Now, using the Humanure system, there is (or will be if my first bin ever fills up) a valuable and useful byproduct! Plus no more digging holes!

Now if I could just generate electricity from my woodstove...

The radio link isn't been available just yet, but you may want to check the new web site I'm developing at https://joseph-jenkins.com/

Slate roofing looks very cool. I'm a big fan of using locally available natural materials.

My house and buildings are made of gathered stone, gathered logs and timber, and my own water and sand in the mortar as I use the cordwood wall method. I also saw my own lumber with a 90cc chainsaw. Fun!

For roofing I'm heavy into steel....

I just tried it and it opened and played on "Real Player" for me.

Funny - I can't get it to work in Netscape or IE, using RealOne Player v.2, Winamp, or Windows Media Player.

Is anyone else on the Forum having trouble playing it?

I tried it again just now, and it opened and started playing in Real Player in I.E. on my Mac Power Book.

No matter what I do - it will not work for me. The file downloads as a 1 kb file - when I click on it, RealOne Player opens up and says a network connection cannot be established. I am online. I try opening it in Winamp and Windows Media Player and get the same results.

I have emailed the producer of the radio show asking him if there is another means of obtaining the clip. I'll post his reply when I get it.

PS: I think it may be a PC/MAC problem. I analyzed the link and it showed as a MAC file. That may be why my PC can't deal with it.

Ah!

Since I am running a Mac that would make sense.

Funny, because it's usually the other way around for us Mac users who always get the sh*t (pun intended).

I originally played the show on a Windows 2000 machine with RealPlayer and then again with RealPlayer on Linux. Not sure why it isn't working for you.

I've extracted the Humanure segment as an MP3 available at: https://www.nottwo.org/mp3/joe-jenkins---humanure.mp3

This might not stay here forever. I encourage others to mirror it.
