Hi Coya,

Compost should be damp like a wrung-out sponge. The microorganisms like to swim, so they need a film of liquid on the surfaces of the organic materials.

Our compost bin at our organic farm in Greece is working since April this year (2011) We followed your instructions at the Humanure Manual and we are completely satisfied: No bad odors and no problems with animals. Here some photos: https://koroni.coyakiya.com/en/node/45 Usually we have 5 months no rain. Therefore we would like to plan a system to use the greywater (shower and washing machine -with bio soap) Do you know how much water does a compost bin (1,5m) needs to be active?
Thanks in advance for the answer.
